The PUBG PS4 release was recently hinted at in a new development video regarding the Xbox One version of the game. In the recent 10 minute or so video surrounding the game’s road to 1.0 release on Xbox One, there is a moment early on in which the viewer can see a PS4 Pro and DualShock 4 on the desk of one of the developers as they show off assets for the game at around 54 seconds in.
While certainly not concrete info on a PUBG PS4 release, it certainly hints at a version for PS4 currently in development. The PS4 Pro and controller are both in positions like they have been recently used. Interestingly enough, there is no Xbox One console shown at the same desk despite the video being centered around that version and released on the official Xbox YouTube channel.
You can check the exact shot for yourself above. It’s worth noting that an official PUBG PS4 release has still yet to be announced. This could have to do with an exclusivity partnership that the PUBG Corp. has with Microsoft, similar to past games like 2015’s Rise of the Tomb Raider where it didn’t come to PC and PS4 until the following year.
Considering that PUBG came to Xbox One late last year, it is entirely possible that we could see a PUBG PS4 release date and announcement for near the end of this year or early next year. With upcoming trade shows like the Tokyo Game Show happening next month, we could see an official announcement in the near future.
For now, though, this shot is only our hint of a possible PUBG PS4 release. It remains to be seen if this was intentional or not on the developer’s part. Make sure to stay tuned here for an official announcement in the near future.
