PUBG’s First Major Tournament Will Have a Prize Pool Worth $2 Million

Do you think you’re awesome at PUBG? Think you could take all comers? Want to win some money? You’ll want to take part in the official PUBG esports tournament, which is happening later this year. It’s the PUBG Global Invitational 2018, and it’s happening in July in Berlin, Germany. You’ll need to clear your schedule and make some time for July 25 – July 29 if you seriously want to show off your chicken dinner-earning skills, as 20 professional teams will go head to head against each other for a whopping $2 million. Yes, you read that right. There’s a ridiculous amount of money in esports, and PUBG is certainly taking the lion’s share of it.

If you’re interested in participating and happen to be on a team whose skills are awesome enough that this might be a reality, you’ll be able to take part in tournaments closer to you in your region to qualify. There aren’t any additional details on how this will work at the moment, but they’re coming soon for residents of North America, Europe, and Asia. After the lengthy selection process, only two winners will emerge victorious: one for first-person PUBG, and the other for third-person. Thought you didn’t have a chance because you only rock first-person mode? Think again!

This is the largest tournament based on PUBG yet, even larger the the Gamescom Invitational, so this is huge news for PUBG and all its followers. You’ll even be able to watch the show in an innovative manner, thanks to PUBG’s in-game cameras, which allow you to see much more of the screen alongside additional commentary and recorded matches for viewing later.

It’s only the beginning for the realm of esports when it comes to PUBG, so if you’re looking to strike it rich, you may want to suddenly become a pro PUBG player. It seems, like most other esports favorites, an extremely lucrative affair.
