QuakeCon 2018 Will Include Updates on Rage 2, Doom Eternal, and More

In just a few weeks, Bethesda will be hosting its annual QuakeCon event, a sort of mini-convention that focuses specifically on various Bethesda-produced gaming properties including Doom, The Elder Scrolls, Fallout, and, of course, Quake. For this year’s QuakeCon, Bethesda promises there will be updates for all of its current and upcoming gaming projects.

The full QuakeCon event is scheduled to run from Wednesday, August 8, to Sunday, August 12, though the main highlight of the convention will be the public keynote that’s scheduled to take place on Friday, August 10 at 9 a.m. PST (12 p.m. EST). The keynote will be broadcasted live via Bethesda’s Twitch channel for those who can’t attend QuakeCon in person, and it will also undoubtedly contain the biggest surprises and reveals that Bethesda has in store.

Rage 2 will be featured at QuakeCon 2018.

Speaking of reveals, several members of Doom Eternal developer id Software will be on hand to show off the first ever gameplay footage of the upcoming sequel to 2016’s Doom, and there’s a very good chance that they’ll be unveiling the footage during the Friday keynote. Along with Doom Eternal, Bethesda says fans can expect updates on other upcoming games including Fallout 76 and Rage 2. Upcoming content for existing Bethesda games such as The Elder Scrolls Online, Quake Champions, The Elder Scrolls: Legends, and Prey will also be revealed.

Along with the keynote, Bethesda will also be broadcasting a planned QuakeCon Fallout 76 panel via its Twitch channel on Saturday, August 11. The timing of the panel will be the same as the keynote (9 a.m. PST, 12 p.m. EST), and specific topics covered in the panel will include the game’s character development and perk systems.

Fans are likely happy that 2016’s Doom is getting a sequel even though it didn’t sell as well as Bethesda would have liked. Meanwhile, Elder Scrolls fans who are hoping to one day see a remaster of The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind might want to temper their expectations.
