Rage 2 E3 Trailer Shows Off Upcoming Weekly Content Drops

During Bethesda’s E3 2019 press event, the publisher dropped a new action-packed trailer for its recently launched shooter Rage 2. Since Rage 2 is already out in the wild, the trailer instead focused on the game’s upcoming content updates. Co-developers Avalanche Studios and id Software plan on supporting Rage 2 with both weekly content updates and larger expansions. The trailer gave viewers a taste of what they can expect over the coming months.

To be honest, the trailer didn’t really unveil anything that wasn’t already on Rage 2’s post-launch roadmap. However, it was at least nice to see some of the upcoming content in action. Also, the cheeky ‘Family Matters’ vibe alone makes the trailer worth watching.

Here’s what Rage 2 players can expect over the coming weeks:

  • In-game cheat codes: the Wasteland Wizard will be offering the Low Gravity, Bloody Mess, and Rejector Seat cheats for players to purchase
  • New vehicles: Players will get to pilot their very own mech and drive the new Skull Motorcycle and Armadillo ground vehicles
  • The new giant sand worm enemy type which can cause chaos from below
  • The first major game expansion: Rise of the Ghosts will re-introduce the original Rage’s Ghost faction
  • New unannounced game modes and events

Unless the Rage 2 roadmap schedule has changed, players can expect Rise of the Ghosts to launch sometime in August. As for the rest of the above content, it should be arriving over the coming weeks. The new pilotable mech, for example, is part of an in-game event set to launch this month. The Armadillo vehicle and giant sand worms, meanwhile, will show up next month if the content roadmap stays its course.
