Rainbow Six Siege: New Operation Para Bellum Features

Yesterday, Ubisoft made a full reveal of the upcoming Operation Para Bellum update for Rainbow Six Siege, detailing the various new features the update will be bringing to the game. We’ve outlined the two new operator-specific gadgets in a separate article, and in this post we’re covering pretty much everything else the Operation Para Bellum update will include.

Villa

Operation Para Bellum will come with the new Villa map, Rainbow Six Siege’s 20th map to date. According to Ubisoft’s official description, the Villa map will be located in the Italian countryside and will come with a little backstory to spice things up:

“The land belongs to the Vinciguerra, a dangerous crime family known for their smuggling activities. The house is their retreat, where they lead a lavish lifestyle and collect rare art pieces. Players will arrive at Villa during a key moment: Vinciguerras are burning documents and transporting their holdings before the big raid. But they’ve got wind of Operation Para Bellum and fled, leaving everything in disarray with vital information ready for the taking.”

Pick & Ban

The Pick & Ban system will add another layer of strategy onto an existing Siege match by allowing teams to see which operators their opponents are choosing. Each team will be able to ban specific operators, making them unavailable to their opponents and, hopefully, disrupting their intended strategies. There will also be a hidden twist wherein a team can swap out one operator for another during the sixth wave of picks, ensuring that even the most skilled players will have to remain on their toes.

Miscellaneous Features

Operation Para Bellum will introduce a number of miscellaneous additions and changes. Defenders will be able to deploy bulletproof cameras, offering them a more secure method for maintaining tactical awareness. Adjustments will be made to dropshotting, weapon alignment, and overall operator speed, and there will also be a brand new animation for counter defusing. A major rework is in store for the existing Clubhouse map as well as the operator Echo.

Operation Para Bellum will arrive on the Rainbow Six Siege test server tomorrow, May 22, with a full launch planned for sometime in June.
