Rainbow Six Siege: New Operator Warden Is A Slick James Bond-Type

Ubisoft is slowly teasing new elements of Rainbow Six Siege’s upcoming Operation Phantom Sight update ahead of its full reveal. We already got a glimpse of Nøkk, Operation Phantom Sight’s terrifying new attacker operator, earlier this week. Now, an official teaser for the upcoming update’s new defender operator, Warden, has arrived.

Rainbow Six Siege Warden Operator

Rainbow Six Siege Warden teaser

According to this teaser post on Siege’s website, Collinn “Warden” McKinley is a home-grown boy from Kentucky. A successful career in the Marines eventually led McKinley to sign up with the U.S. Secret Service. During his Secret Service tenure, McKinley thwarted an attack on the Secretary of State, gaining the attention of Team Rainbow.

Similar to Nøkk, the above post also provides some flavor context on how McKinley fits in with the larger Rainbow team:

“His tendency to follow his gut and his unshakeable confidence have proved that he is in a league of his own. It’s no wonder that he was recommended by high-ranking government officials. Now that he is part of the team, he faces a new challenge: to determine if his skillset and iron will remain unparalleled when faced with specialists of his own caliber.”

Warden Glance Smart Glasses Gadget

Warden’s teaser post also revealed the name of his unique gadget: a prototype device called the Glance Smart Glasses.  What exactly the Glance Smart Glasses do is being kept under wraps for now, but we have some theories. Previous datamining suggests the glasses will make Warden immune to enemy smoke and flashbang grenades. Whether that’s all they do is something we’ll just have to wait to find out.

A full reveal for Operation Phantom Sight will take place during this weekend’s Rainbow Six Siege Pro League finals. Specifically, the reveal is scheduled for Sunday, May 19. A new map and new gameplay tweaks are expected to accompany Warden and Nøkk. For more on Rainbow Six Siege, be sure to read about the game’s recently deployed reverse friendly fire update.
