Call of Duty: Warzone Rebirth Island

“An illicit Soviet base raided and shut down by the CIA in 1968,” writes Activision; “during which Operator Russell Adler caught and forcefully interrogated the base commander Viktor ‘Stitch’ Kuzmin. The facility was rebuilt and recommissioned by Stitch in 1984 with one purpose: the creation and testing of the deadly Nova 6 gas.”

Call of Duty Warzone Rebirth Island This Week 2

The new Rebirth Island map coming to Call of Duty: Warzone on the 16th of December is smaller than Verdansk. However, this doesn’t mean that it is lesser. Rather, it means more intense, close-quarters fighting. It also means that Treyarch has plans for Trios and Quads modes with lower player counts than those of Verdansk. The map will also feature its own version of the classic Gulag. Meanwhile, Verdansk is getting a new Gulag as well, based on the original Nuketown map.

Alongside the new map, Warzone is getting a new game mode in Season One; Resurgence. Available on Rebirth Island, Resurgence closes the Gulag but allows slain players to respawn after a countdown, provided at least one of your squadmates is still alive. As such, players will need to focus on eliminating entire squads in one go, lest they risk the squad returning for revenge.

Accompanying Rebirth Island is a huge content intregation, bringing tons of new content from Black Ops Cold War into Warzone. This integration includes more than 30 weapons, new Operators, and more. This new content will actually be launching as part of an update on the 15th of December. (One day before the launch of Season One).
