As you go around Red Dead Online fishing for salmon and hunting down those perfect pelts, it’s inevitable you will run into mouthy strangers online. This can make anyone want to know how to use the Red Dead Online mute players feature. If you’re wondering how to stop those annoying 12-year olds from blasting your eardrums all day, you’re in the right place.
Unfortunately, Red Dead Online is set up in a weird way when it comes to other players. When you jump into an online server, there is a public voice chat system. Essentially, you will hear every player chatting no matter how far away you are or at least it seems that way. While this is great for finding a posse, it can be annoying for solo players and the like. Here’s what you need to do.
How to Red Dead Online Mute Players
Thankfully, you can easily mute any player in every session that you join online. This is great for when JessiesMom69 is just too darn talkative and you need to mute them. While in Free Roam, simply press left on your D-Pad to bring up the main player menu. Once there, you are going to look for the “players” tab and select it.
Go ahead and sort through all of the players on your list however you’d like. If you’re really not feeling like listening to strangers online, you can go ahead and select to mute all players on the server. This will make your experience much quieter and certainly more at peace.
But, you might not want to mute every player. Maybe you are looking for a group to join but ForkKnife4Eva just won’t shut up. You can scroll down the list until you find the specific person you’re looking for and mute just them.
