Red Dead Redemption 2 Bounty: How to Get Rid of Bounty in RDR2

It’s the Wild West so no one blames you for being a naughty cowboy sometimes. However, there will come moments when you will need to get rid of your Red Dead Redemption 2 bounty. Like in Rockstar’s previous games, there is a Wanted level that tracks how bad you are. Committing various crimes with witnesses around will result in this level going up.

Get your Wanted level high enough and you will find yourself with a Red Dead Redemption 2 bounty. This can be a problem, especially early on, as bounties like these can be around $35 and up. Worse, you can get bounties for obvious stuff like stealing but simple stuff, too. Indeed, you can even get bounties in this game for just running into someone with your horse accidentally. Here’s how to get rid of it.

Unfortunately, there is only one way to get rid of the Red Dead Redemption 2 bounty. Unlike Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, you can’t just go after the person who put the bounty on you and take them out. Instead, you are going to have to either surrender to the law or own up and pay the bounty.

If you don’t pay off your Red Dead Redemption 2 bounty, there are steep consequences. For one, the lawmen won’t allow you into the affected town or area until you pay it. If your crimes were severe enough, you may even be shot first and asked questions later. As such, you are going to want to pay the bounty as soon as possible.

In order to pay and get rid of the Red Dead Redemption 2 bounty, you are going to want to head to the nearest train station/post office. Head up to the clerk in the building and interact with them. You will see the option to pay off your bounty and be good to go.
