Where to Find Cougars in RDR2?

First things first. There are actually two types of cougars in Red Dead Redemption 2. There are regular cougars, and there are legendary cougars. You’ll find the regular cougars mainly in New Austin, but also in New Hanover and West Elizabeth. The legendary cougars are of course tougher to locate, but you may have some luck while you’re hunting in New Austin. Just head to Gaptooth Ridge. If the cougar you see has black fur, you’ll know you’ve spotted a legendary one.

In terms of weapons, it is up to you what you use, but the best all-around choice is undoubtedly the rifle. This gun has two benefits when you are hunting cougars. First of all, it lets you keep your distance. Secondly, it allows for a precision shot. This gives you your best chance at bringing the cougar down while keeping the pelt in pristine condition.

When to Find Cougars in RDR2?

Been checking the areas mentioned above, but not having any luck? If the sun is in the sky, that could be the reason. RDR2’s cougars are nocturnal, so you will want to head out after dark to find them.

What Can You Craft If You Kill a Cougar in RDR2?

Once you successfully kill a cougar, there are a number of craftables you can make. First of all, you can enjoy a hearty meal from the cougar’s meat. Next, you have the chance to have some fantastic items tailored for you. These include a coat, vest, gloves, hat, saddle or vest.
