Red Dead Redemption 2: How to Complete the Benedict Allbright Bounty

Red Dead Redemption 2 protagonist Arthur Morgan is an outlaw through and through. However, that doesn’t mean he’s above bringing his fellow outlaws to justice in exchange for coin. Indeed, bounty hunting can be a very lucrative pastime for those willing to do what local law enforcement can’t. In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to locate and apprehend the wanted criminal Benedict Allbright.

Starting the Bounty Hunter Mission

The first thing you’ll want to do is travel to the town of Valentine. Once there, head on over to the local Sheriff’s office and you’ll find a wanted poster hanging on the wall. Examining the poster reveals that Benedict Allbright is wanted for selling harmful substances to locals. It seems Allbright had been passing these substances off as miracle medicine before absconding with his ill-gotten gains.

How to Find Benedict Allbright in Red Dead Redemption 2

Thankfully, finding Benedict Allbright is a pretty straightforward process. When you accept the bounty hunter mission, the game marks Allbright’s location on your map. You’ll find the criminal to the north of Valentine, on the shoreline of the Dakota River. One of the bounty’s stipulations is to capture Allbright alive so you sadly can’t just snipe him from afar.

Red Dead Redemption 2's Benedict Allbright bounty will require a daring river rescue.

As you approach Allbright, a scripted cinematic sequence will play out in which he jumps into the river to escape. Use your horse to keep pace with him from the shore, crossing over when the game tells you to. Eventually, you’ll be close enough that you can lasso Allbright right out of the river and drag him to shore. Hogtie your bounty, sling him over your horse, and head back to Valentine to collect your reward.
