Red Dead Redemption 2: How to Find the Hidden UFO Easter Egg

Yes, you read that headline correctly. Despite being a very serious western epic, Red Dead Redemption 2 occasionally veers into the realm of outright oddity. As it turns out, the game contains a hidden UFO Easter egg which is surprisingly easy to unlock. This guide will take you through all the required steps to view the Red Dead Redemption 2 UFO Easter egg for yourself.

Where to Find the Red Dead Redemption 2 UFO Easter Egg

Red Dead Redemption 2's UFO cabin is appropriately spooky.

The first thing you need to do is find a particular cabin in Red Dead Redemption 2’s sprawling countryside. Using your map as a reference, find the “New Hanover” text. If you look slightly north of the “N” and “O” in “Hanover,” you’ll see a small lake. On the northern shore of that lake is the cabin you seek. Inside, you’ll find some spooky skeletons and a weird sermon which references intergalactic travel. The sermon also specifically mentions Mount Shann, and that’s where you should head next.

If you’re not sure where Mount Shann is, it can be found northwest of Strawberry. Look under the “S” in “West Elizabeth” on your map and you’ll spot the mountain. Head up to the mountain’s summit and you should find a circle of rocks. Once you’ve reached the rock circle, it’s time to return to the mysterious cabin in the woods.

For your second visit to the cabin, make sure you arrive at night. If you did everything correctly, the cabin should be bathed in an eerie green glow once you enter. Look up, and through the cabin’s dilapidated roof you should see what is clearly a UFO hovering overhead. Reports say the UFO should specifically appear at around 2 a.m. in-game time. Sadly, there isn’t any way to interact with the UFO, all you can do is wait until it flies off.
