Red Dead Redemption 2 Players Create a Petition for a Pet Cats Feature

Frustrated players have created a petition for a Red Dead Redemption 2 pet cats feature to come to the game. The petition is so that Rockstar Games will add the same ability to pet cats that is currently available for dogs. The petition is available right now on Change.org. Called “Be able to pet all cats in Red Dead Redemption 2”, the petition currently has over 700 signatures and counting.

The Red Dead Redemption 2 pet cats petition has an initial goal of 1000 signatures. It went live three days ago so it certainly seems like its goal is in sight. It was started by Mark Kenway, a player who wants to pet cats. In the petition’s description, he gave his own personal story from the game itself. You can read it in its entirety below.

Red Dead Redemption 2 Pet Cats Petition

“One day, I was walking in [Saint Denis] and I saw a kitty. Wanting to pet this cute little guy, I crouched to see if I could pet him like I usually do to every [dog] I see (even during missions, robbery, etc) but for some reason, I got triggered by the fact that you cannot pet a mf cat in this game but you can pet all the dogs instead. I think this is bullshit. For 120 bucks, I want to pet a cat if I want to instead of getting wanted cause a lady decided to cross the street while I’m trying to drift with my horse at 20mph in the city during the day.”

As of right now, it is possible to approach a dog, praise it, scold it, and pat it. Petting is also available for your horse best friend. However, cats only have praise and scold options. With the release of Red Dead Online coming soon, could we see a Red Dead Redemption 2 pet cats feature?
