CD Projekt Red Warns Players as Season of the Warrior Draws to a Close

The current Gwent season – the Season of the Warrior, is soon to come to an end. CD Projekt Red published a warning to players about the impending season changeover on the game’s official website. The update came with a reminder of the rewards up for grabs while the season lasts.

The Gwent Season of the Warrior and What Comes Next

Gwent’s seasons change over every month, and are often punctuated with Faction Challenge events. Each season offers players the chance to get new titles, frames, and avatars; all matching the theme of the season. The current Season of the Warrior began around the start of September, following the Nilfgaard vs. Skellige Faction Challenge. CD Projekt Red’s reminder notes that the Season of the Warrior will come to an end at 10:00 AM CEST on the 28th of September. The event’s end is likely to align with the start of a new Faction Challenge; pitting two of the card game’s factions against one another for a short time.

Gwent Will Soon Receive a Major Update with Homecoming

The deadline gives players roughly one week to participate in the Season of the Warrior. This season’s frames are all themed around battle and feature bundles of weapons. The title rewards feature such titles as “Hero,” “Champion,” and “Bounty Hunter”. Players who reach at least the second tier in the season will also gain an avatar of Imlerith.

It is currently unknown what season will follow the Season of the Warrior. Whatever it is, it will be the last full season before the release of Homecoming, the huge Gwent overhaul which has been in development for months. It is not known whether CD Projekt Red will continue with their current schedule of events or bring in anything new once Homecoming launches. Homecoming’s launch will also coincide with the launch of Thronebreaker. Once planned as a single-player mode for Gwent, Thronebreaker was recently spun-off into a standalone RPG. It will reportedly feature over thirty hours of story content.
