Resident Evil 2 Remake: What Are Weekly Challenges and How Do You Unlock Them?

In an effort to give the game some added replay value, Capcom has implemented weekly challenges into Resident Evil 2. However, these weekly challenges aren’t immediately available and must be unlocked first. In this guide, we’ll cover how to unlock Resident Evil 2’s weekly challenges and how to complete them.

Unlocking Resident Evil 2’s Weekly Challenges

Similar to the 4th Survivor bonus mode, unlocking weekly challenges requires that you beat Resident Evil 2’s main campaign. However, when I say beat the campaign, I mean both the normal and second scenarios. When you beat the normal scenario as one character (Leon or Claire), you unlock the other character’s second scenario. Finish the second scenario and you’ll have beaten the full Resident Evil 2 remake campaign.

The next time you visit the main menu after clearing the campaign you’ll see a new option for weekly challenges. The weekly challenges are hosted on the ResidentEvil.Net web service so you have to log in to attempt them.

How to Complete Weekly Challenges

Judging by the current series of available challenges, it looks like each weekly challenge series lasts two weeks overall. According to the weekly challenge web page, the first series of challenges lasts until Monday, February 4. It also looks like challenges can be for both the main campaign and the 4th/Tofu Survivor mode.

The three currently available challenges are listed below. Again, these challenges are available until February 4.

  • Crack Shot – Beat the main campaign with a total accuracy rating of 95 percent or more on either Standard or Hardcore difficulty.
  • Undamaged Goods – Beat the campaign while only taking damage five times or less and counter-attacking three times or less on either Standard or Hardcore difficulty.
  • Got a Quota to Keep – Beat 4th/Tofu Survivor and kill at least 40 enemies.

Each completed weekly challenge awards a gold medal for your RE.Net player profile. Completing all three challenges in a given period also awards a platinum medal.
