Rockstar Has Fixed a Severe Property-Wiping GTA Online Bug

Recently, some unfortunate GTA Online players on PC have been experiencing what appeared to be a severe glitch; reports were coming in of players seemingly losing all of their vehicles, weapons, or properties from their accounts upon logging in. Some players even appeared to have lost everything from their accounts! Fortunately, it seems that this GTA Online bug wasn’t as severe as it seemed, and Rockstar has now fixed it.

Rockstar Rolls Out Fix for Major GTA Online Bug

This property-wiping GTA Online bug was relatively new – the first reports of it only began to emerge earlier this week. However, given that players were seemingly losing access to huge swathes of their property (if not everything they owned), Rockstar evidently prioritised a fix. Fortunately, it seems that this property wasn’t actually erased; rather, the bug was simply causing things not to display correctly in player inventories. As such, nobody should actually have lost anything from their accounts.

Fortunately for those affected, Rockstar has now released a patch on PC which includes a fix for this particular bug. “The issue resulting in GTA Online for PC vehicles, weapons, and properties not displaying in character inventories is now resolved,” they posted on social media; “Please restart your game and sign in again for these items to display correctly.”

The timing of this new bug was rather unfortunate; after all, Rockstar is currently offering players a $500,000 bonus for signing in this month. As such, it’s likely that more players than normal were signing in – only to find themselves missing huge amounts of their property. Fortunately, it currently looks as though there won’t be any long-term losses for players as a result of this glitch. Indeed, players should now be able to sign in without worrying, providing they install the hotfix and restart their games.
