Rod Fergusson On Gears 5: “We Are Going To Be Doing 60 FPS At 4K”

More exciting news about the expected Gears 5 has to do with the quality we are going to get from a Gears of War 2019 video game. The Coalition’s studio head Rod Fergusson once again brought us some great news, this time regarding their goals on the gameplay quality.

After Microsoft’s announcement of a fifth Gears of War installment at E3 2018, fans have been wondering how this game is going to look on Xbox One X, the strongest console ever made. To their excitement, it seems like Microsoft has thought this through and is planning to make Gears 5 one of the few shooters running at 60 FPS at 4K resolution on screen.

In an interview with Wired.co.uk, Rod Fergusson specifically said:

“Our target is always 60fps, and we believe – with everything we’ve done, the learning we’ve taken from Gears 4, and the optimizations we’ve been able to do beyond that – that’s exactly what we’re going to be doing, 60fps at 4K”.

Being completely excited with the new technology they have each year and with what it brings along with it, he added:

“The new technology of this generation has been fantastic”.

If you were wondering what a 2019 Gears of War third-person shooter video game is going to be like on Xbox One X, here’s your answer. It appears that Microsoft thought everything through before proceeding in making Gears 5 playable on such outstanding horsepower like Xbox One X has.

Additionally, this means that both resolution and framerate will be at their peak on the Xbox One X high-end console. We can easily go a step further and assume that Gears 5 will be at its best performance on a powerful-enough gaming PC as well.

Gears 5 will be released sometime in 2019, although we do not know yet the exact date. The only sure thing is that it will be one hell of an experience.
