We are coming up fast now on the release of NBA 2K23. As we wait for the game, 2K’s Ronnie Singh, a.k.a. Ronnie 2K, has shared some comments about the upcoming game. Based on his statements, we are in for a real treat this year with some of the best NBA 2K gameplay to date. Let’s take a look at what he had to say.
Ronnie 2K Says Gamers Can Expect the “Greatest” NBA 2K Game Ever
Ronnie 2K said, “Obviously, 23 is a special number and it made sense to put [Michael Jordan] on the cover. But again, it represents what we are trying to convey with that, which is that this is the year of greatness and this is going to be the greatest game we’ve ever released.”
That is quite a statement! Ronnie 2K added that the gameplay features a “whole new system,” and that it feels “different” and “smoother” than gameplay of the past. Those comments are pretty vague, but they have us excited. As he also points out, since the developers have now been working with the current gen for a while, they have had a chance to really hone their game.
Ronnie 2K also commented on the choice of shooting guard Devin Booker as the cover athlete for the Standard Edition and Digital Deluxe Edition. He said, “He was the best player in the NBA Players Tournament a couple years ago that we did during the pandemic. He’s one of the best 2K players that there is, so it was time to celebrate him and Sue and Diana. Like, what else is there to say?” Five-time Olympic gold medallists Sue Bird and Diana Taurasi appear on the cover of the NBA 2K23 WNBA Edition.
