For years, gamers have been wondering when and where the next instalment of Grand Theft Auto will take place. While there is still no official word, the newest GTA 6 story rumors indicate that the game could have more than one setting. If the rumors are true, we might be visiting multiple cities and different times.
What the Leak Tells Us About the Possible GTA 6 Story Settings
In an extensive post titled “latest gta 6 leak,” u/xambie12 on Reddit provides a large assortment of details concerning the possible story and settings for Grand Theft Auto 6. The user does not name the source of these rumors as “he/she will be in serious trouble,” but implies that the person is a Rockstar employee.
Reportedly, the first destination we will explore in GTA 6 will be Liberty City in the 1970s, specifically the Spanish Broker/Harlem district. xambie12 writes, “The game is divided into chapters by years, it is a Three Act story with an epilogue,” wherein you will play “a 20-something character with a Naval Officer absentee Gringo father and a South American mother. He is a Bilingual dime bag dealing, jewelry snatching criminal who enters the drug trade to support his large family in the fictional city of Republic of Castellano, South America which is Rockstar’s version of Colombia and Bolivia.”
xambie12 then describes a succession of events leading you to Liberty City and Vice City as you rise up in the cartel ranks. Reportedly, you’ll then be able to run smuggling missions which take you to Mexico and South and Central America.

So after the prologue in the 1970s, the story apparently moves into the 1980s and then features a present day epilogue.
Along with providing details about the settings, protagonist and story of GTA 6, xambie12 also talks a bit about GTA Online and its purported advanced customization features for character creation.

There is no confirmation that any of these leaked details are true. But if they are, it sounds like GTA 6 will feature a sweeping, ambitious narrative.
