Rumor: PS5 Could Launch on November 17th

How long will we have to wait for the PlayStation 5? Well, we know it can’t be much longer now, because the holiday season is almost here. Yet we still have no release date for the PS5. Microsoft players know when they can pick up the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S (November 10th, in case you are wondering). But Sony gamers remain in the dark. Right now though, there is a rumor that the PS5 could launch on November 17th. Let’s take a closer look.

Why the PS5 Could Launch on November 17th

Where does the November 17th guess come from? The origin of the rumor is the November 19th release date for PS5 wall mounts over at Amazon.com. So, why November 17th instead of November 19th? The reason is that the 19th is a Thursday, and Tuesday and Friday are likelier release days. Indeed, that Tuesday is the 17th, so the PS5 might come out as soon as then. If it were to release that Friday, that would be the 20th, so that is another popular guess right now.

While these are good guesses, they are still just that—guesses. It is possible that the PlayStation 5 could come out sooner or later than either of those dates. It is hard to imagine we will be waiting much longer though for Sony to announce the official release date. Again, Microsoft has already done this. At this point, Sony is lagging behind.

Regardless, you are going to want to be fast to get in your pre-order when you have the opportunity. Sony has made it clear that PS5 stock will be limited at launch. From what it sounds like, it be hard to even get a pre-order in before the stock runs out. Make sure you do not miss out on any more important updates by following our PlayStation news.
