Sekiro Speedrunner Defeats Every Boss Without Ever Getting Hit

No matter how good you are at Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, chances are you’re not as good as speedrunner horheristo. In a recent video uploaded to their YouTube channel, horheristo bests every single major Sekiro boss in the game. What makes horheristo’s run so impressive, however, is that they never take a single hit from any of the bosses.

Sekiro No-Hit Full Boss Run

Sekiro no-hit speedrun

Horheristo’s video isn’t one continuous speedrun but is instead a series of clips edited together into a roughly 40-minute montage. In each clip, horheristo expertly defeats a specific Sekiro boss without ever taking a clean hit from them. The very first clip even features the early-game Genichiro Ashina meadow fight (a fight players are supposed to lose). Horheristo is also kind enough to show the slightly altered cinematic which results from the player’s victory.

According to the video’s description, horheristo is also playing on New Game Plus 2 for the boss run. This means the bosses are even tougher than normal but that advanced skills and prosthetic tools are also available. You can see such skills and tools being used in many of the fights, especially the Genichiro Ashina rooftop battle.

Many of Sekiro’s bosses are tough enough to defeat without having to also worry about not getting hit. Horheristo also notes that they purposefully took a more aggressive approach to negate some of the more aggressive bosses. However, since bosses like the Guardian Ape have built-in anti-aggression moves, a slightly more cautious approach was needed.

Horheristo’s video isn’t just impressive to watch, it can also be instructional. Casual players might not know how vulnerable some bosses are to fire (like Lady Butterfly and Gyoubu Oniwa). Also, since the Headless Ape is technically an aberration, it takes extra damage when the player uses Divine Confetti.

As someone who struggled a lot with some of these fights, I found horheristo’s video to be quite cathartic. Though, I’m also a bit jealous of horheristo’s seemingly superhuman ability to read and deflect every attack. If you don’t mind watching bosses you struggled with get absolutely destroyed, the above video is worth watching.
