Six New NBA 2K20 Classic Teams Announced Including Cavs, Spurs Championship Rosters

Thee upcoming NBA 2K20 game will feature all of the updated rosters for today’s teams. In addition, it will feature teams of All-Star Legends from different decades, and as revealed today, new classic teams from NBA history. They’ll include some of the best teams from over the years featuring stars like Tim Duncan, Kawhi Leonard, Kyrie Irving, and LeBron James. Here are the details for the six new NBA 2K20 Classic Teams.

LeBron, Kawhi lead NBA 2K20 Classic Teams

Just yesterday, we got a first look at four of the NBA 2K20 All-Decade teams. They boasted stars including LeBron James and Tim Duncan as part of their starting lineups. Both players are also featured in the first look at six new NBA 2K20 Classic Teams. King James appears as part of the 2015-16 Cleveland Cavaliers squad which also features All-Star point guard Kyrie Irving on the roster. That team famously came back from down 3-1 in the NBA Finals to defeat the Golden State Warriors 4-3 for the title.

In addition to that Cavs squad, another one of the NBA 2K20 Classic Teams will feature the famous San Antonio Spurs team from 2013-14. They featured now-retired Spurs legend Tim Duncan along with former Spurs NBA Finals MVP Kawhi Leonard. Gamers are wondering if that year’s Leonard will be rated a bit too high based on the fact Leonard tied LeBron atop the 2K20 player ratings. That squad also featured retired stars Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker with Gregg Popovich as the head coach.

Another team joining as one of the six new Classic squads will be the Los Angeles Clippers from that same year. Their team boasted All-Star players Chris Paul and Blake Griffin in the starting five along with big man DeAndre Jordan. All of these players have since departed, while Kawhi Leonard and Paul George have joined the roster for the coming season.

Gamers will also be able to use the 2009-10 Portland Trail Blazers team in the NBA 2K20 game. Their lineup included star players Brandon Roy and LaMarcus Aldridge, who is now with the San Antonio Spurs. That team finished 50-32 which had them at third overall in the Northwest Division. In addition to Roy and Aldridge, other players on the roster included Andre Miller, Nic Batum, Marcus Camby, Juwan Howard, and Jerry Bayless.

Classic Wizards & Suns squads also featured

Gilbert Arenas, Antawn Jamison, and the 2006-07 Washington Wizards will also appear as part of the game. The team finished that season just 41-41 but is still considered a classic based on their personnel. Scoring superstar “Agent Zero” aka “Hibachi” heads up a squad that also includes other notable players. They are Caron Butler, Antonio Daniels, DeShawn Stevenson, and Brendan Haywood, among others.

Last but not least, is a nice surprise with the 2002-03 Phoenix Suns. They’re led by former All-Star Stephon Marbury along with “The Matrix” Shawn Marion. However, seeing this particular team in the game has fans excited for another player to possibly show up on the roster.

Along with those stars came several other on the Suns’ roster. They included a rookie named Amare Stoudemire and second-year player Joe Johnson. Tom Gugliotta and Anfernee Hardaway also appeared on this classic roster.

The arrival of the new NBA 2K20 Classic Teams is a nice touch as 2K continues to bring more new content each season. Gamers not only have the option to play out dream matchups between Classic Teams but also other scenarios.

For example, would that Kyrie and LeBron Cavs squad be able to take down LeBron and Anthony Davis’ 2019-20 Lakers? Could Kawhi and Paul George’s 2019-20 Clippers defeat that Classic Spurs team? There are all sorts of possibilities to test out with the new NBA 2K20 game.

The new game arrives on September 6, 2019, for PS4, Xbox One, and Windows PCs.
