Sony Didn’t Mean to Make Pac-Man Championship Edition 2 Free the Other Day

If you were browsing on the European PlayStation Store the other day, you may have noticed that Pac-Man Championship Edition 2 was listed for free. If you moved quickly, you might even have managed to snag it. But if you check back now, you will discover that the game is no longer listed for free. It turns out that Sony didn’t mean to make it free in the first place.

Pac-Man Championship Edition 2 is No Longer Free at the European PlayStation Store

Pac-Man Championship Edition 2 showed up for free on the European PlayStation Store on April 22nd, at least for some people. Not everyone saw the game listed for free, and there seemed to be no obvious connection between those who did. There were gamers who did manage to download the game without paying for it during this time. But again, not everyone was successful with this.

Later that same day, the game was taken off of free for everyone, and returned to its usual price. How or why did the game become temporarily free to download for some people? We still don’t know. But it was obviously unintentional since it was so inconsistent and short-lived.

Not familiar with Pac-Man Championship Edition 2? Its official description says, “Featuring eye-popping 3D graphics and funky visuals, the latest version of the classic game takes chomping and chasing through mazes to a whole new level. Make up to four ghost trains for maximum chompage! New modes include Score Attack and an Adventure Mode with fast fleeing fruit, big bad bosses, ridiculous remixed rules, and more!”

If you do want to own the game, it isn’t expensive. You can get it for only $10. Since it is a fun game, it is worth paying for it. Also, the Spring Sale at the PlayStation Store is still on. Indeed, Sony added a bunch of new items just last week. With hundreds of hot deals available, you can save a lot of money right now even on AAA games. So, check it out and take advantage while you have the chance. Keep up with our PlayStation news to make sure you don’t miss out on future sales and freebies at the PlayStation Store.
