Star Wars Battlefront 2 Clone Troopers Update Launches on August 29

Star Wars Battlefront 2 developer DICE has announced that a new upcoming update for the game will allow players to unlock new Clone Trooper skins for their multiplayer avatars. Even better, the update is scheduled to arrive tomorrow, August 29.

According to this recent Community Transmission post over on the Battlefront 2 forums, players will be able to unlock appearances for both the 41st Elite Corps (the same division that fought alongside Jedi Master Yoda in the Battle of Kashyyyk) and the 327th Star Corps who are perhaps most infamously known as the trooper division that helped in carrying out the Jedi assassination directive Order 66.

The Clone Troopers are finally deployed.

DICE’s post confirms there will be both a 41st Elite Corps skin and a 327th Star Corps skin for the Assault, Specialist, and Heavy multiplayer classes, adding up to six skins in total. Individual skins will be available for 20,000 credits/500 Crystals apiece, and there will also be two separate bundles that grant access to all three skins from a specific Corps for 40,000 credits (so three for the price of two).

Along with the new Clone Trooper skins, tomorrow’s update will also include a selection of new purchasable emotes and victory poses for both hero characters and troopers. Each hero emote and victory pose will cost 2,000 credits/50 Crystals while trooper emotes and victory poses will each set you back 1,000 credits/25 Crystals. For those who want to start saving up for the upcoming Clone Wars heroes (Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, General Grievous, and Count Dooku) that DICE unveiled earlier this year, the Community Transmission post also confirms that, when they arrive, they’ll cost 35,000 credits each.

Other miscellaneous changes that will come with tomorrow’s update include a revamped end-of-round screen, a permanent playlist for the Ewok Hunt asymetrical multiplayer mode, an option to prioritize prequel-era maps for Galactic Assault matches, and the addition of the Naboo Palace Hanger map for both the Blast and Custom Arcade game modes.
