Tales of Vesperia Remaster to Release This Winter

If you had told us that a Tales of Vesperia remaster would be coming this year, we’d probably have laughed and then cried. At least a little bit. But we were proven wrong, because during Microsoft’s presentation at E3 the trailer for Tales of Vesperia Definitive Edition was shown. We’d be lying if we said we didn’t get hyped to see it.

The game was originally released exclusively on the Xbox 360 back in 2008, with a PS3 release included a year later. However, there was only one problem with that: the PS3 port was only ever released in Japan, which led to many Tales fans on PlayStation feeling more than a little bummed to miss out on the game.

But now that’s a thing of the past, with the Tales of Vesperia remaster coming to Xbox One, PS4, PC and the Nintendo Switch. What’s more, this remaster will include new characters, events, scenarios, locations, and costumes that were never released in the West back in 2008/2008. This means that those who had missed out before can finally get in on the action and enjoy what Tales of Vesperia has to offer for the very first time.

For those aren’t aware of the story, Tales of Vesperia is a JRPG that follows the adventures of Yuri Lowell, a former Imperial Knight who makes it his mission to get back the stolen Blastia Core, a piece of machinery that helps regulate water in his neighborhood. Yuri finds himself in the middle of an evil plot on the way and ends up being joined by companions Repede, Estelle, Judith, Rita, Karol and in this new definitive edition, Flynn Scifo and Patty Fleu.

Tales of Vesperia has been asked for by fans for a number of years now, so it makes sense that this remaster would be released just as the game’s 10th year anniversary is coming up. Be sure to check out the trailer above to see if this is the game for you.
