Tesla Storm is a Powerful New Tool in Call of Duty Zombies Season 5
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 5 – having launched earlier today – has delivered a significant expansion of new Zombies content to the game. Alongside new features for Outbreak, players can also get their hands on the new Death Perception Perk, as well as a powerful new Field Upgrade; Tesla Storm.
Season 5 – The New Tesla Storm Field Upgrade
As one would expect, the Tesla Storm Field Upgrade focuses on electricity. More specifically, the Upgrade is designed to serve as a personal defence system of sorts, electrifying nearby zombies as they close in around you. Not only does this cause damage, but it also stuns enemies temporarily, giving the user time to fall back and escape from getting surrounded.
Once you equip Tesla Storm, the new Field Upgrade offers a relatively simple base ability, but one with a lot of potential synergy. When activated, the Storm generates a localised field of electricity around the user which lasts for 10 seconds. If any other players are nearby, an arc of lightning will connect them to you, extending the Storm’s reach. As such, if your whole team is grouped up, Tesla Storm can affect a much larger area. Any normal enemy caught in the Storm takes damage and is also stunned. Of course, Tesla Storm can also be improved, and offers five Skill Tiers of upgrades, as follows:
- Skill Tier I: The damage dealt by Tesla Storm is doubled.
- Skill Tier II; The duration of the Tesla Storm effect increases to 15 seconds.
- Skill Tier III; Tesla Storm will now damage and stun special enemies in addition to normal ones.
- Skill Tier IV: Players generating a Tesla Storm gain a 25% boost to their movement speed while it is active.
- Skill Tier V: Tesla Storm will now damage elite enemies in addition to special and normal enemies.
