The Division 2: How to Find Enemy Faction Keys

While playing through The Division 2, you may come across locked crates which are tied to a specific enemy faction. These crates are opened with corresponding faction keys, but the game doesn’t explicitly reveal how to find said keys. In this guide, we’ll explain how you can find Hyena, True Sons, and Outcast Keys to open their corresponding chests.

How to Find The Division 2’s Enemy Faction Keys

The Division 2 faction keys

Peppered throughout The Division 2’s open-world landscape are underground tunnels which connect two overworld points. The entrances to these tunnels don’t appear on your map by default, but they are marked once you find them.

Exploring these tunnels is worth the time and effort since you’ll often find supply and gear caches. Also, be on the lookout for small white cabinets attached to the walls of these tunnels. If you approach a cabinet, you can interact with it to open it. Contained in these cabinets are enemy faction keys tied to the three main factions (Hyenas, True Sons, and Outcasts).

The specific faction key you’ll find is always randomized. However, search enough tunnels and cabinets and you’ll have a healthy stash of all three key types in no time. You can then use the keys to open any faction crates you find and claim the loot within. Since faction crates are level-based, it’s best to wait until you’re near (or at) the level 30 cap.

There’s also a “freebie” key you can find close to your Base of Operations. If you look slightly south of the White House on your map, there should be an underground tunnel icon. Head down to that tunnel and look inside to find the cabinet with the key. There should be at least one key cabinet in the White House tunnel, though other tunnels can have multiple cabinets.
