The Division 2’s Post-Launch DLC Plans Include New PvP Modes and Story Content

With The Division 2, Ubisoft wants to take the best elements of The Division and make them even better. However, much like its predecessor, The Division 2 will also be a constantly evolving online experience. There will be plenty of content for players to experience right out of the gate, but that’s just the start. Ubisoft has some serious post-launch DLC plans for the upcoming sequel, and the company recently teased what those plans are.

The Division 2 Post-Launch DLC Plans

During a recent interview with The Koalition (via GameRant), The Division 2’s senior producer Tony Sturtzel talked about post-launch DLC.

Sturtzel was answering a question about additional PvP game modes and he confirmed additional modes are coming as free DLC. In the same breath, Sturtzel also mentioned The Division 2’s PvP maps and how they’re being tuned for high-quality experiences. This seems to suggest additional PvP maps are also in the cards for post-launch DLC.

Along with PvP, Sturtzel said that endgame is a big focus for post-launch DLC. Therefore, players can expect new story missions and PvE map expansions, all of which will be entirely free. Here’s Sturtzel’s full statement:

“There definitely will be more modes added as free post-launch content. Our current goal is to ship this game with a few maps uniquely built for the best PvP experiences. Our decision to create from an endgame-first mentality means that fans can expect more content drops in the future after completing the campaign. Additional story-driven missions and map expansions will also be free as our ongoing commitment to keep our dedicated community energized and playing.”

Aside from its post-launch DLC plans, Ubisoft is also fine-tuning The Division 2 in other ways. For example, the game’s Dark Zone experience will be noticeably improved over that of its predecessor. If you want to see the sequel’s improvements firsthand, Ubisoft is hosting a private beta next month.
