FIFA 20, PES 2020 among The Game Awards 2019 nominees

Five games are competing for this year’s Best Sports/Racing Game. That includes the aforementioned FIFA 20 from EA Sports and eFootball Pro Evolution Soccer 2020 from PES Productions/Konami.

Konami released PES 2020 back on September 10 worldwide. It achieved an 8.3 out of 10 review score from IGN and a 9 out of 10 from GameSpot. It also holds an 81 out of 100 or better on Metacritic for the three different console versions of the game.

EA’s FIFA 20 arrived several weeks after that with a September 2 release date. The newest installment in their lineup received an 8 out of 10 from Gamespot and 7.8 out of 10 from IGN. It also achieved a 79 out of 100 scores on Metacritic for the Xbox One and PS4 versions. However, a disappointing 43 out of 100 score arrived for the Nintendo Switch version of the game.

The two international football titles have been battling it out for years now with PES trying to take over FIFA in terms of popularity. Many gamers have settled on one or the other, although EA’s title is still holding on as the more popular of the two games.

They’ll be up against three racing titles for the category. Those games are Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled by Beenox/Activision, DiRT Rally 2.0 by Codemasters, and F1 2019 by Codemasters. The winner will be unveiled when the awards ceremony is held on December 12.
