The next time someone tells you that you’re wasting time playing Fortnite, let them know it can always turn into a legitimate career. That’s what happened to 13-year-old Kyle “Mongraal” Jackson, who just got hired by Team Secret’s new European Fortnite team. He’s not the youngest player to be on a pro team, as that honor goes to a 12-year-old outside of Fortnite, but it’s an impressive feat nevertheless, and Team Secret has their own little “secret” with their ace in the hold.
According to Team Secret’s CEO John Yao, he didn’t actually know Jackson was so young when he offered to sign him and his teammates, as it wasn’t immediately apparent to him due to the young Fortnite champ’s maturity. You can see Jackson in action in the highlight reel from Team Secret, where he shows off just how awesome he actually is. Here’s a brief warning for you, though. You may end up feeling just a tad bit jealous of his skills, because they’re that good.
Unfortunately, Jackson may end up being excluded from some competitions in the future due to his age difference, but he’s definitely got a leg up on other teams and aspirational players right now. Just think of where he may be in a few years if he continues to hone his craft. If Fortnite is still going full steam ahead by then, or when Jackson is 18, he stands to earn a ridiculous amount of money in the future. Hats off to you, young warrior!
