Following the release of their E3 2019 trailer, and as we head towards a gameplay reveal later this year, CD Projekt Red is slowly releasing snippets of new Cyberpunk 2077 information. For instance, they recently revealed that the vehicles in-game will all feature radios. Now, in a new interview snippet, Quest Director Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz gives fans some information about the Cyberpunk 2077 Life Paths.
The Cyberpunk 2077 Life Paths: Corpo, Nomad, and Street Kid
According to Tomaszkiewicz, players will be able to choose between three Cyberpunk 2077 Life Paths in game. These are essentially alternate backstories for V. They will have an impact on their personality as well as the way that other characters interact with them. The three Life Paths which will be available are Corpo, Nomad, and Street Kid. The names of these Life Paths were revealed in a follow-up Tweet from the official Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter account.
“This time around, we have a big variety of different skills which players can modify as they develop their character throughout the game,” explains Tomaszkiewicz; “and in turn, they can use these skills to discover different paths through the levels, to discover different options and quests. On top of that, we also have this thing called the Life Paths, which are the origins of our character.”
Players will choose their Life Path at the very start of the game, during character creation. As such, they’re intended to represent V’s life up to the point of the start of the game. Tomaszkiewicz points to social interactions as one area where Life Paths will be useful; specifically, that a Corpo character would have advantages when dealing with corporate characters, while a Street Kid would find it easier interacting with gang members. It’s currently unknown exactly how much the Life Paths will impact gameplay, and how much they play in to the story. For instance, we don’t know if choosing certain Life Paths will give V pre-existing relationships with certain characters. For now, fans will have to wait patiently for more information from CD Projekt Red!
