Total War Saga: Troy Multiplayer Beta Coming on Thursday

Total War Saga: Troy, which launched earlier this year, is finally on the verge of getting multiplayer. Today, Creative Assembly announced the launch date of an upcoming Total War Saga: Troy Multiplayer Beta, which will be bringing multiplayer options to the game at long last.

The Total War Saga: Troy Multiplayer Beta

Total War Saga: Troy is the third instalment in the ongoing Total War Saga series; a series of smaller, historical Total War games developed using older game engines. The series began with Thrones of Britannia, followed by Fall of the Samurai (originally a Total War: Shogun 2 DLC re-packaged as a standalone title), and then Troy; the first game to be fully developed by Creative Assembly’s Sofia studio. The game, which was available for free at launch as an Epic Games Store exclusive three months ago, didn’t offer multiplayer at release. However, multiplayer was an upcoming feature on the post-launch development roadmap.

Since then, Troy has gotten its first major DLC – Amazons – as well as its smaller Blood & Glory DLC. The upcoming multiplayer beta will be starting on the 26th of November, in just a couple of days’ time. This beta will enable a range of multiplayer options, including co-op multiplayer campaigns, custom multiplayer battles for up to 8 players, and support for community maps. It’s currently unknown how long the beta period will last. However, it is presumably an opportunity for Creative Assembly Sofia to test the game’s servers and stability.

Total War Saga Troy Multiplayer Beta Next Week

Multiplayer coming to Total War Saga: Troy isn’t the only announcement relating to Total War over the next few weeks. This weekend, Creative Assembly will be hosting the next Everchosen tournament; the official esports tournament of Total War: Warhammer 2. Next week, following that event, the studio will be releasing The Twisted and The Twilight; the next Lord Pack DLC for Total War: Warhammer 2, featuring new content for the Skaven and the Wood Elves.
