Rumor: Two New Crash Bandicoot Games are On the Way

Recent years have been exciting for Crash Bandicoot fans. In 2020, we got to play Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, and in 2021, Crash Bandicoot: On the Run! released. Let’s also not forget Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled from 2019. Now, according to a recent rumor, we may have two new Crash Bandicoot games to look forward to. Let’s take a closer look.

Could There Be Two New Crash Bandicoot Games Under Development?

This rumor comes from TheRealInsider on Twitter. You can take a look at the post below:

TheRealInsider says, “Actually 2 Crash games in development.” You might be wondering how legit this source is. TheRealInsider has been correct in the past with leaks. So, there is reason to take what this leaker says seriously (with, of course, the customary grain of salt).

The timing is significant too. Just last month, Crash 4 developer Toys for Bob got on Twitter and appeared to tease a mystery project. Fans have been thinking it might be Crash 5, but could also perhaps be a Spyro game.

The first of the two rumoured games may not be a complete mystery. The game is rumoured to be Crash Bandicoot: Wumpa League, which will supposedly be multiplayer. We have been hearing leaks and rumors about Wumpa League for months now. That said, none of it is official. So, even though it seems likely Wumpa League exists, we need to keep in mind that we still do not know for sure.

What about the other game? A lot of people are saying it could be Crash 5. Reports on 4chan suggest the game is called “Project Globe.” Supposedly, it will be a lot like Crash 4 in terms of gameplay, but will take us to a new setting and introduce us to new characters. That seems logical, since it would build on the success of Crash 4, which plays really well. Still, it is pure guesswork at this point.

A couple of years ago, there were rumors that there would be a Crash Bandicoot PlayStation 5 exclusive. Those rumors never came to fruition though. All the recent Crash games released across multiple platforms. Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled released on PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time released first on PS4 and Xbox One, and then released later on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, Nintendo Switch and Windows. As for Crash Bandicoot: On the Run!, that game released on Android and iOS for mobile platforms.

So, if the rumoured two new Crash games do exist, we are guessing they will release widely across most platforms.

At this point, all we can do is wait and see. Check in with us again soon to find out if there are any more leaks or rumors about possible Crash Bandicoot games. We will be sure to let you know right away too if there is any official announcement about one or both rumoured games. Hopefully that will happen soon, because we are getting impatient for more Crash Bandicoot!
