Latest Update Adds Jungle Flooded Map to Call of Duty: Black Ops 4

Treyarch has now released the final update of Operation Apocalypse Z, the fifth post-launch Operation for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. In addition to various map updates and fixes, the update brings a new Black Ops 4 map variant; Jungle Flooded. Of course, fans have plenty more to look forward to on Monday when Operation Apocalypse Z ends and Treyarch launches Operation Dark Divide.

The final Operation Apocalypse Z update is now live in-game, bringing a variety of changes. These include new and returning game modes; Stockpile has been added to multiplayer, while Ground War is now available in Blackout. Elsewhere, the update brings weapon tuning changes, general improvements to Zombies, and new environment updates in Blackout and Alcatraz. Of course, it also adds Jungle Flooded, a new map variant. This map has been added to the map rotation, and is effectively replacing Arsenal Sandstorm; a map which has been removed as a result of feedback from players.

“Jungle Flooded is our new free alt-weather map variant in Black Ops 4,” explains Treyarch; “We’re bringing unique gameplay elements to the Black Ops fan-favourite map with this one, including traversable water and an underwater capture point in Domination – and like Contraband Hurricane, additional light weather elements give this map a unique feel without affecting player visibility.”

In addition to Jungle Flooded, the Blackout and Alcatraz maps have gotten notable changes. In all likelihood, these changes are part of Treyarch’s preparations for the launch of Operation Dark Divide. “As we close out the final days of Operation Apocalypse Z,” continues Treyarch; “the zombies have started their retreat and the apocalypse has ended in Blackout, bringing daylight back to both the main map and Alcatraz on all platforms”. This means daytime lighting is now the norm on both maps. Indeed, Alcatraz should now look more akin to how it originally launched.
