Valorant Episode 3 is here, and with it, the next major expansion of new content for Riot’s competitive shooter. Foremost amongst that new content is the latest addition to Valorant’s roster of playable Agents; the fully robotic and extremely lethal character known as KAY/0.
The New Episode 3 Valorant Agent – KAY/0
“KAY/0 is a machine of war built for a single purpose,” explains Riot; “neutralizing radiants. His power to suppress enemy abilities cripples his opponents’ capacity to fight back, securing him and his allies the ultimate edge.”
A new Initiator-class Agent, KAY/0’s Q ability is a grenade-style ability; FLASH/DRIVE. With this ability, the robot equips a Flash Grenade, which can then be thrown. Anybody who can see this grenade when it detonates will be temporarily blinded. KAY/0’s E ability also aims to impair the performance of adversaries. ZERO/POINT allows KAY/0 to equip and then then throw a suppression blade. This blade sticks in the first surface it strikes, then releases a bubble area of effect, suppressing all enemies within.
When you get to KAY/0’s C ability, things start to get a bit more destructive. FRAG/MENT is exactly what it sounds like. The robot equips and throws a sticky explosive device ripped from his arm. This device detonates several times, dealing extremely high damage in the centre of the blast radius with every explosive pulse. Even one blast from this device is almost enough to kill.
Finally, KAY/0’s X ability is NULL/CMD. When KAY/0 activates this ability, he “instantly overloads with polarized radianite energy”. This gives him a temporary power boost and causes pulses of energy to emanate from his position. Any enemy hit by one of these pulses will be suppressed for a short time. This ability gives KAY/0 the potential to suppress a whole team, providing he catches them together in close proximity.
