What to Expect in the Upcoming Apex Legends Deja Loot Game Mode

Next week, on the 3rd of March, Respawn will be launching the System Override Collection Event in Apex Legends. Like previous Collection Events before it, System Override will give players a chance to play an all-new game mode. In this case, that mode is the Apex Legends Deja Loot mode, which features standard gameplay by nonstandard loot mechanics. For success in Deja Loot, players will need to learn during matches then plan ahead for the next one.

What’s Different About the Apex Legends Deja Loot Game Mode

The big difference between the Apex Legends Deja Loot mode and standard gameplay concerns the game’s loot. In ordinary matches, the loot which is scattered around the map and found in containers is random. In Deja Loot, however, all loot is fixed. Every time you load into a new match, the loot spawns and locations will be identical to the previous match. That means you’ll need to remember where the best loot is and plan your approach to take advantage of that knowledge.

For the first week of the two-week Collection Event, Deja Loot will be available on the World’s Edge map. After the first week ends, the mode will shift over to Kings Canyon, requiring players to learn an all-new set of loot locations. Additionally, the Deja Loot mode will feature just one ring pattern each day during the event; another aspect which players can learn to get an advantage in matches.

As an added element to change things up, Deja Loot will also include a brand-new type of shield; the Evo Shield. These new items initially start weaker than any other shield in the game. However, they grow stronger the more damage you deal to other players, eventually becoming stronger than the most powerful shield currently in the game. This progress remains even after the shield is dropped, allowing somebody else to claim it and keep strengthening the shield. During System Override, Evo Shields will only be available in Deja Loot. However, Respawn has teased that the item could return to the game after the event concludes, depending on feedback and how well it performs.
