What is the Pre-Load Size for Battlefield 2042?

Getting ready to buy Battlefield 2042? If so, one of the many questions you may have is what the pre-load size is for the latest installment in the Battlefield series. Let’s go over what we know so far about the pre-load size for Battlefield 2042.

This is the Pre-Load Size for Battlefield 2042

As you are probably aware, the official launch date for the regular release of Battlefield 2042 is November 19th. But gamers who placed a pre-order for the Gold or Ultimate editions were able to get early access to the game today, November 12th. In fact, you can now pre-load the game on Xbox, PC, PS4 and PS5.

We are still waiting on reports from PlayStation gamers, but a leak on Twitter suggests that the preload size for Battlefield 2042 is 42.717 GB. That is without the Day One Patch. Some Xbox One users have reported in, however, as well as some players on Xbox Series X/S. According to them, the size on Xbox Series X/S is about 50 GB, while it is closer to 27 GB for Xbox One.

Is this information accurate? We don’t know. It is still pretty much rumor, though the actual preload sizes for the game on various platforms should soon be clear as more players download and install it.

When Does the Game Unlock?

If you do purchase the Gold or Ultimate edition of Battlefield 2042, when will you be able to play it? The game itself unlocked on PC at 12 am PT, 3 am ET, and 8 am UK today, so long as you own one of those editions and/or you are a member of EA Play or EA Play Pro.

For PlayStation, in most locations, the game unlocked at 12 am. The exception was if you are on Pacific time, where the game unlocked at 9 pm PT on November 11th. This was true for Xbox systems as well. Again, if you did not buy the Gold or Ultimate edition, and/or are not a member of EA Play, you will just need to wait until the 19th to experience Battlefield 2042.
