What Time Does the Video Game Awards Start?

Excited for the 2018 Game Awards? We’ll soon be finding out the Game of the Year, Best Ongoing Game, and awards across all categories. There are also some big reveals planned, including a World Premiere for Fortnite. But what time does the video Game Awards start? And how do you watch it?

What Time is The Game Awards?

First of all, let’s talk scheduling. What time is the Game Awards, and what date will it air on? The awards ceremony will take place on Thursday, December 6th in Los Angeles, CA. The event will get rolling at 5:30 PM Pacific Time. Incidentally, if you are a Fortnite player, that is extra-exciting since that is the same date Season 7 premieres.

Whatever Epic Games plans to reveal at The Game Awards, it doesn’t concern Season 7.

How to Watch The Game Awards

We have now answered the question, “What time does the video Game Awards start?” But you still need to know how to watch the Game Awards. The answer to that could not be simpler. You just head to the live stream page for The Game Awards on YouTube. For your convenience, here is the link directly to the stream:

There is a countdown available on the live stream page. For example, as I am writing this, it states, “Live in 27 hours.” Just keep an eye on that countdown and you can’t miss it. You also can set a reminder in just one click right there next to the countdown. You can then be doubly sure you will catch every minute of the awards.

As you can see, it is ridiculously easy to view the stream, and the event is scheduled for a pretty convenient time (at least if you are in the USA). So there is little excuse for missing it. Still, if you get stuck in traffic or you are asleep at that time of day in another time zone, you can check back with us on VGR for updates. Enjoy the awards!
