If you need to protect yourself against radiation, the Fallout 76 Hazmat Suit is one of the most effective solutions in the entire game. Sure, consumables like Rad-Away can help remove its harmful effects, but the Hazmat Suit can grant you near immunity. Given the value of this item, it’s a very useful piece of equipment to find early, and it seems that one location has already been found. The suit grants a massive 1000 rad resistance and a 98% reduction to radiation too. It also prevents you from contracting any and all airborne diseases and damage from airborne hazards. Best of all, you can wear it over your armour.
Where to Find the Fallout 76 Hazmat Suit
It’s entirely possible that the Fallout 76 Hazmat Suit may show up in random loot during your play-through of Fallout 76. However, if you don’t want to rely on that slim chance, there is at least one place where you can find a Fallout 76 Hazmat Suit ready and waiting for you. There may be others somewhere in the game, but this one is at least confirmed for now. To find the suit, you’re going to need to head to the Poseidon Energy Plant WV-06. This site can be found due south from the town of Flatwoods, close to the river.
When you arrive at the Energy Plant, you should be able to see three chimneys; two standing in a pair, with a third elsewhere in the facility. You should head for that lone chimney stack. When you approach, look for a red walkway which will lead upwards and take you onto the roof of the building. Of course, the Energy Plant is likely to be filled with enemies, so you’ll need to clear them out first. Once you do, head up to the top to a longer walkway and follow that. Once you arrive on the roof of the plant, turn to your right. From here, make your way south across the rooftop. You should find a small office set up here, and inside, the Hazmat Suit.
This is the only confirmed location so far where a Fallout 76 Hazmat Suit does not occur inside a container. This means that the suit is not instanced, so if you’re playing in a group, only one player can pick it up. Leave the area for a while, and these items tend to respawn, however. Inside the office, you can find the suit folded atop a box.
