Suit upgrades are one of the most important things for players to track down in Metro Exodus. While some of these are found naturally through the course of the story, many are scattered around the game’s regions. As a result, you won’t find them if you don’t go hunting. In the game’s first open-world area, Volga, there are eight different Metro Exodus Suit upgrades.
All of the Metro Exodus Suit Upgrades to Find in Volga
Of the eight Metro Exodus suit upgrades in Volga, several can be found through the course of the story. However, nevertheless, most of these are still miss-able if you don’t search for them. Certainly, the Night Vision Goggles are a good example of this; it’s easily possible to miss them even though they’re in a story area.
- Ammo Pouches: This suit upgrade can be found at a bandit camp east of the bandit camp which is located close to the centre of Volga. The ammo pouches upgrade is on the upper floor of the camp.
- Compass: After you escape from the church and encounter the Tsar-Fish for the first time, you’ll meet Duke on the shoreline. He’ll mention a crashed airplane which is nearby. The compass upgrade is inside the fuselage of this plane, which is a short walk from Duke’s location.
- Battery Charge Controller: The battery charge controller can be risky to get if the Tsar-Fish is still alive; it’s on a very small island which is southwest of the electrical tower where you find the guitar for Stepan. On the island, you can find a shed, and there is a dead body on the roof which has the controller upgrade.
- Extended Filter: The extended filter is inside a bandit camp near the centre of the Volga map.
- Night Vision Goggles: The night vision goggles are in the flooded train depot where you retrieve Krest’s railcar. After you traverse the depot and reach the room where you can kill the Tsar-Fish and open the path to the railcar, there is a door which leads to a graveyard area. In a fenced part of this area is an altar of sorts, and the goggles can be found here. If you acquire a key by rescuing a cultist from one of the nearby bandit camps, you can access this room via a separate door earlier in the depot section.
- Metal Detector: The metal detector upgrade is inside a flooded ruin near the southern border of the map. It is located to the south-west of the teddy bear objective marker.
- Reinforced Helmet: Like the ammo pouches and extended filter, the reinforced helmet is in a bandit camp. This camp lies to the east of the centre of Volga.
- Throwing Weapons Harness: The throwing weapons harness upgrade can be found inside a gas station which is occupied by a group of bandits. This area is close to the train depot. Indeed, you will likely pass by on your way to the depot to retrieve the railcar.
