The Witcher 3 Redux Mod Receives Major New Update

The Witcher 3 REDUX mod was first released last year, by a NexusMods user who goes by STELLAR7Project. The mod is designed to be a complete gameplay redux of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt; mainly focused on combat tweaks and alterations. However, out of combat the mod also changes a whole array of things throughout the game. Now, the creator has released a major new update which brings even more changes to The Witcher 3.

The New Update for The Witcher 3 Redux Mod

The Witcher 3 REDUX mod started as a damage rebalance mod, according to the creator. However, it has since become much, much more. Almost all of the mod’s tweaks and alterations can be configured and personalized from the game menu, and those tweaks are far-ranging indeed. “World timescale is configurable for variable lengths of days and nights.” explains the mod description; “Time passage in cutscenes and fast travelling has also been modified to be more cohesive and consistent. Previously weightless items have weight, and you can no longer carry stuff beyond the inventory limit. Plus, no level restrictions, a survival element, skill-based leveling, and custom camera offsetting”. And that’s not to mention all of the combat changes.

All Parts of The Witcher 3 Redux Mod Are Configurable in the Menu

The new update, which released just a few days ago, is the v1.4 Update. Among the changes implemented with v1.4 is the ability for Ciri to finally perform counterattacks; in the Witcher 3 base game, she is only capable of attacking, parrying, and dodging. In addition, players can now see the world fast forwarding while they meditate. Players can now configure the amount of health restoration they gain from food and drink, and in combat, Geralt can now follow a parry up immediately with a counterattack. This “Interceptive Riposte” allows a parry to flow into a seamless counter. Ordinarily, the parry would simply through the opponent off-balance, allowing you to attack normally afterwards while their guard is down.
