Henry Cavill Hints That the Start of Filming for the Witcher Netflix Series is Coming Soon

Ever since the announcement that Henry Cavill will be playing the role of Geralt of Rivia, there has been little to no news from the team working on the Witcher Netflix series. The last progress update fans got from Lauren Hissrich, the series showrunner, was that casting had begun. Hissrich is currently taking a Twitter hiatus, leaving fans wondering as to what stage the show has gotten to. A possible answer to that question has now been hinted at by Henry Cavill.

Roach Has Always Been Geralt's Loyal Steed

What’s Next for the Witcher Netflix Series?

Thus far, Cavill is the only actor who has been announced for the Witcher Netflix series. After his casting, it emerged that he had spoken to Lauren Hissrich months before casting ever began, explaining why the decision to cast him came much earlier. However, no indication of who will be cast in the series’ other roles has emerged yet. Recently, Cavill, a long-time Witcher fan who is no doubt getting into character, posted the following on Instagram; “If Roach were a motorbike,” he says; “I reckon she’d probably look a little like this. So, I figured I’d take the mechanical Roach out for one last ride before meeting the real Roach soon. P.S. If you have no idea what I’m talking about, you will soon.”

Cavill’s post appears to hint that filming for the Witcher Netflix series could begin soon. If the actor is preparing to meet the horse who will appear as Roach, Geralt of Rivia’s steed, then that would suggest that things are progressing. Hissrich hinted to fans prior to her Twitter hiatus on a couple of occasions that she news would emerge about Roach in the near future. Until Hissrich returns to Twitter, it seems unlikely that fans will get any clear indication of what stage the show is at. However, if they are approaching the start of filming, then it shouldn’t be long before a lot of casting decisions are announced.
