Wargaming is celebrating the 4th anniversary of its wildly popular MMO World of Tanks Blitz video game with a landmark 100 million downloads. World of Tanks Blitz owes its success to various different factors but mostly in Wargaming’s decisions.
World of Tanks Blitz is a mobile-only spin-off of the popular World of Tanks. It offers a smaller and faster experience than the one offered by the main title. This resulted in being ported to PC one year after its first release, which was on June 24, 2014, in North America. The game’s fanbase is the main reason for this game’s success since it has the most loyal community offering its feedback to make the game better.
Wargaming made the best decisions regarding the game’s release. No wonder World of Tanks Blitz hit 100 million downloads in its 4th anniversary. Wargaming’s decision to enter the Chinese market last December in partnership with NetEase was crucial for the game’s popularity. It was already popular in the region so launching it to the Chinese audience certainly grew its number of fans.
