WWE 2K Battleground Roster Stars Alexa Bliss, Mick Foley Appear in New Ads for Game

The WWE 2K Battleground roster will be full of playable superstars upon launch, with others available along the way. Among those superstars in the game will be former WWE Raw Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss and former WWE/F Champion Mick Foley. The two superstars were each featured in recent advertisement clips leading up to the game’s release date.

The WWE 2K Battlegrounds roster will feature a who’s who of today’s top superstars. Alexa Bliss has been part of NXT and WWE since 2013. While that’s a short period of time by the standards of today’s wrestling legends, Bliss has racked up quite the accolades already.

She’s a three-time WWE Raw Women’s champion, two-time WWE SmackDown Women’s champion, and two-time WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion with Nikki Cross. Bliss is also a Money in the Bank winner and ranked in the top 10 of all female wrestlers in 2018.

While many question her in-ring ability, she’s shown a feisty attitude and great ability to sell as well as deliver promos on the mic. In her new ad, the WWE 2K Battlegrounds roster star is shown taking selfies during what appears to be a meal with a friend or colleague. The theme is that you can’t brawl with Alexa in real life, but can in the game.

In a second ad for the game, longtime wrestling star Mick Foley is at an office job clipping his nails. That annoys a nearby coworker, especially at one spot, prompting him to grab a weapon. Once again, though, the idea is not to start a brawl with Foley in real life.

That’s for sure, as he’s well-known by fans for taking serious bumps and putting himself through unimaginable situations in matches or elsewhere. Surprisingly, Mick’s still alive to talk about it all today despite his days of portraying Dude Love, Cactus Jack, and Mankind.

The two clips feature a brief look at the superstars in the ads themselves. However, both are part of the game upon launch.

WWE 2K Battlegrounds roster features 70 stars at launch

Based on our previous roster report, the game will feature a base roster with 70 superstars at launch. The initial base roster launch includes many of today’s biggest stars like John Cena, Roman Reigns, Charlotte, and Alexa Bliss. Mick Foley will be in that release as his Mankind alter ego.

Those who got the game via pre-order will get bonus superstars. They include the Rated-R Superstar Edge and three other alternate versions of superstars.

Gamers can also create their own superstar to use in the game, as showcased in the YouTube video below.

Post-launch will bring more superstars to the WWE 2K Battlegrounds roster, per IGN. They’ll include former stars like Bret “The Hitman” Hart, Doin The Clown, British Bulldog, Chyna, and Macho Man Randy Savage. In addition, newer stars will be in these post-launch releases, which could be unlockable superstars.

Mick Foley is in the post-launch superstars as his Cactus Jack alter-ego. However, there’s no sign of Dude Love just yet.

The WWE 2K Battlegrounds game officially arrives for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, and Google Stadia on Friday, September 18, 2020.
