WWE 2K Battlegrounds Roster Update: Which Superstars Are Coming to Game and When?

A WWE 2K Battlegrounds roster update will continue to take place over the coming weeks, bringing more favorite superstars to the game. The 2K arcade fighter-style game brought out a group of superstars just a week ago, with another due on December 30. We’ve got the details and schedule for the new superstars and arenas coming to the game.

WWE 2K Battlegrounds roster update: Diesel, Razor Ramon coming Dec. 30

On Wednesday, December 23 the Nature Boy Ric Flair led the way for a group of new content. Sheamus arrived as another addition to the WWE 2K Battlegrounds roster. Newer WWE star Montez Ford (unlocked) and the legendary Sting (unlocked) were also part of the content along with a Holiday Arena.

On December 28, WWE 2K Battlegrounds began to offer a Pack Attack special. Gamers could pick up Goldberg, Triple H, Shawn Michaels, and Booker T for 20 percent off their box prices in the game’s WWE 2K Store.

For Wednesday, December 30, the newest release will feature the legends Kevin Nash aka Diesel, and Scott Hall aka Razor Ramon. The duo were legendary members of the NWO Wolfpack in WCW and WWE. Also part of the update are Angelo Dawkins (unlocked) and the Winter Bear Arena, per Happy Gamer.

More roster updates scheduled for 2021

In the new year, each WWE 2K Battlegrounds update will arrive on a Wednesday, starting January 6, 2021. That first one brings just two superstars. There will be the legendary Bret The Hitman Hart and newer superstar Sami Zayn (unlocked). This one doesn’t appear to include any arenas. The same goes for January 13 when they add Chad Gable and Akam (unlocked) to the game.

The other January 2021 roster update will feature Akam’s partner Rezar (unlocked). In addition, Rowdy Roddy Piper and Fandango will be included in that January 20 update.

All of the above superstars join the game’s original roster that featured 70 superstars and legends. Gamers had a certain amount they started with, while others were unlocked via virtual currency in a store, or by playing through game modes.

While those are all the currently-scheduled updates, fans are hoping for some other legends or stars to arrive. It’s always possible that they’ll have a surprise or two in store for the coming year with the Battlegrounds game.

The WWE 2K Battlegrounds game is currently available for Sony PlayStation 4, Microsoft Xbox One, Windows PC, and Nintendo Switch. While there wasn’t an upgraded version released for PS5 or Xbox Series X, the game has backward compatibility and works on the next-gen consoles.
