WWE 2K20 Cover Athletes Becky Lynch, Roman Reigns to Star in Animated Wrestling Comedy
From wrestling stars to WWE 2K20 cover stars, Becky Lynch and Roman Reigns are looking towards yet another starring role. The duo who appear on the front of the upcoming WWE 2K video game, will lend their voices to an upcoming animated feature called “Rumble.” Lynch and Reigns have been added to the cast due to their wrestling experience, since this will be an animated wrestling comedy.
WWE 2K20 cover athletes to appear in ‘Rumble’
Per Screenrant’s report, the new animated feature is a partnership involving WWE Studios and Paramount Animation. “Rumble” will be an animated wrestling comedy about a world involving monsters and the sport of monster wrestling. The plot focuses on a character named Winnie who is trying to follow in her father’s footsteps by training an underdog monster.
So far, there’s no word on what roles Becky Lynch and Roman Reigns will play for the upcoming project. However, they’ll join a cast that also includes Will Arnett, Terry Crews, Tony Danza, and sports commentatory/personality Stephen A. Smith. “Rumble” will be directed by Hamish Grieve, who worked on the popular “Shrek” sequel films.
Reigns, Lynch continue WWE promotional push
In addition to working on WWE 2K20 and in the wrestling ring, Roman Reigns and Becky Lynch hold previous experience in acting roles. Becky appeared as Maddy Hayes in “The Marine 6: Close Quarters” which also starred WWE’s Mike “The Miz” Mizanin and legend Shawn Michaels. Prior to that, she did stunt work on a 2013 episode of “Vikings.”
Reigns most recently appeared in a cameo role in the “Hobbs & Shaw” spinoff film for the “Fast & Furious” franchise. In the video below, his non-biological cousin Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson talks about Reigns’ cameo role in the film.
While wrestling made them popular, Reigns and Lynch are increasing their starpower with the WWE 2K20 cover stars and in the trailer video for the game. In addition, Becky is part of the featured 2K20 Showcase Mode in the game which co-stars the rest of the Four Horsewomen and allows gamers to play through their historic matches. Reigns is part of a featured WWE 2K20 Tower mode called Roman’s Reign where gamers play through his big matches to get to the top of the tower.
The new WWE game arrives for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PCs on October 22, 2019. Check out the official WWE 2K website for details on how to pre-order a copy.
Also, stay tuned for “Rumble” which is coming in the summer of 2020. Depending on the reception it gets, there’s always that possibility that Reigns and Lynch will return for a video game of the feature.
