WWE 2K20 Gameplay Trailer Reveals The Fiend’s Debut, Legends, Locations, & Tommaso Ciampa

Fans of the WWE 2K video games finally got one of the things they’d been wanting to see. On Thursday (Oct. 3), the first official WWE 2K20 gameplay trailer arrived to give a unique look at this year’s game. It includes the debut of Bray Wyatt’s The Fiend character in video game form, as well as legends including Hulk Hogan and The Undertaker. There’s also the man a lot of gamers were wanting in 2K19, as Tommaso Ciampa is officially confirmed.

WWE 2K20 gameplay trailer: ‘Step Inside’

The new WWE 2K20 gameplay trailer features plenty of superstars shown as it kicks off with scenes showing cover star Becky Lynch, The Undertaker, and then Roman Reigns. The shot of Taker is particularly interesting as he’s down on one knee kneeling. In front of Taker is some sort of giant head with open mouth and glowing eyes. It appears like a backstage location in some space like a boiler room or other area. The scene could also involve the mode where gamers create their own superstars.

After shots of Reigns and Lynch in the early part of the trailer, Bray Wyatt as The Fiend debuts. He’s shown at the top of the stage holding his trademark lantern and in full Fiend costume. Moments later a close up of his face provides a potential jump scare. The sounds of Skillet begin to push the action forward with their track “Legendary” the background music for the new WWE 2K20 trailer. From there, fans see a who’s who of WWE stars, matches, locations, and mayhem from the game.

Here’s the new gameplay trailer from WWE 2K in all of its glory:

Legends, demons, debuts, & destruction

Also featured in the trailer are the Four Horsewomen as Charlotte Flair, Sasha Banks, and Bayley join Becky. Fans have seen some of the shots before, but new shots are there too including Charlotte’s trademark gymnastics move during her entrance at the ring.

The WWE 2K20 gameplay trailer shows current stars such as Seth Rollins, Brock Lesnar, and Shinsuke Nakamura. A number of legends also appear including Goldberg, Sting, The Rock, and Hulk Hogan. The latter two legends are part of bonus content with certain pre-order editions. There’s even Jerry “The King” Lawler popping up as a playable superstar.

In addition to all the superstars and legends, there’s plenty of action. Fans are getting their first look at cage or Hell in a Cell, superstars crashing through the tables, and Reigns tackling an opponent through the barricade. Another scene has Reigns smashing Drew McIntyre on the hood of a car into the windshield, breaking the glass.

Fans also see some of the content that will be part of the first WWE 2K20 Originals for Bray Wyatt’s Bump in the Night horror theme. That includes a demonic-looking character posing on the apron and an eery house out in the woods. A zombified Sasha Banks is there, and there’s a scene with Taker battling Kane with flames around. There’s also two of the demonized or zombified superstars in a match.

Of course, some of the best surprises of the trailer include NXT stars Tommaso Ciampa and Toni Storm making debuts. Many gamers in the community are ecstatic they won’t have to use CAWs for these superstars in WWE 2K20. Here’s a look at Ciampa who most fans know was noticeably absent from the WWE 2K19 roster as the NXT champion.

The reaction has been mostly positive with this WWE 2K20 gameplay trailer reveal. Some of the comments on YouTube included, “Ciampa is playable, I’m at ease.” Another commenter mentioned, “The Demon King and Aleister attire is fire. This trailer definitely brought a little excitement back to the game.”

That’s probably great news for Yukes and 2K as they’re hoping fans won’t be disappointed by another installment in the series. The new WWE 2K20 game arrives on October 22, 2019, for PS4, Xbox One, and Windows PCs.
