WWE 2K22 Pre-Order & Release Date Details Arrive With Superstar-Filled Trailer Announcing Game
The wait is officially over for WWE 2K22 pre-order details! On Thursday, 2K unveiled a much-anticipated trailer for their upcoming professional wrestling game. It features a who’s who of WWE superstars with all sorts of mayhem occurring during the creation of the game. Along with the trailer, 2K unveiled more details about the game including pre-order details for fans to secure their copies of the game.
Trailer arrives featuring many superstars
The official WWE 2K22 pre-order details, release date, and more arrived on Thursday, January 20th with a brand new trailer. This one “hits different” as the WWE 2K22 tagline says and features various superstars from the current WWE roster. Fans will see Alexa Bliss swinging as her fiendish character. Matt Riddle rides by on a scooter.
Roman Reigns is chilling in a golf cart that drives by Drew McIntyre seated at a table. Drew notices Roman has his sword and wants it back. Rhea Ripley and Bianca Belair nearly get into a wrestling match after watching their virtual match on the screen. Machine Gun Kelly is there helping out with music. There’s even an Undertaker appearance, as he delivers his trademark chokeslam!
The trailer closes with Drew McIntyre making his video game entrance after finally recovering his sword. We also see shots of the various covers for the game.

WWE 2K22 pre-order details: Standard & Cross-Gen Digital Bundle
On the heels of the recent leaks, 2K has revealed all of the covers. Just like the WWE 2K22 cover leaks suggested, Rey Mysterio is the cover star for the Standard and Deluxe versions of the game. There’s also the Ultimate Edition, which is the WWE 2K22 NWO 4 Life Edition that leaked yesterday.
The Standard Edition carries a price of $59.99 for current-gen copies (PS4/Xbox One) and is the base version of the game. This also includes the Undertaker Immortal Pack and WWE SuperCard Limited Edition cards of Rey Mysterio & Dominik Mysterio.
Standard Edition for Next-Gen consoles (PS5/Xbox One) is $69.99. It includes the base version of the game, Starrcade ’96 Rey Mysterio Pack, and Undertaker Immortal Pack if pre-ordered.
There’s also a Cross-Gen Digital Bundle for $69.99. Gamers who have both PS4/PS5 and Xbox One/Xbox Series X/S consoles can get this to switch between platforms. Or gamers planning to upgrade their current-gen console to a next-gen should probably get this. With this bundle, you’ll get both the current and next-gen versions of the game.
It also includes the Undertaker Immortal Pack. Cross-Gen Digital also has a Starrcade ’96 Rey Mysterio Pack featuring a ’96 Rey Mysterio playable character and a Starrcade ‘96 Rey Mysterio Ruby MyFACTION card.
Deluxe & NWO 4 Life Edition details
The Deluxe Edition is $99.99 a copy. With this one, gamers get the game itself, and special bonuses:

- Season Pass for DLC Packs
- UNDERTAKER IMMORTAL PACK
- STARRCADE ’96 REY MYSTERIO PACK

The NWO 4 Life Edition has a cost of $119.99 and features exclusive content related to the iconic NWO stable. It includes:
- WWE 2K22 game
- Playable nWo versions of “Hollywood” Hulk Hogan, Scott Hall, Kevin Nash, Syxx, & Eric Bischoff.
- Season Pass for all 5 DLC packs
- Starrcade ’96 Rey Mysterio Pack
- NWO Bonus content including special arenas, NWO belt, and more.
When is the WWE 2K22 release date?
The WWE 2K22 game will be available for Sony’s PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Steam Digital. Depending on which copy is ordered, gamers can get early access.
Based on WWE 2K22 pre-order details, the Standard Edition has a release date of Friday, March 11, 2022. However, the other versions (Deluxe, NWO 4 Life) get three days early access. That means gamers who pre-order those copies will get to start playing on Tuesday, March 8!
