Early Reports: Xbox Series X and PS5 Extremely Quiet

If there is one thing we don’t want from the PS5 or the Xbox Series X, it is noise. But it is hard not to worry about it, because PS4s are really loud. They frequently draw comparisons to jet planes. Sony has stated in the past that cooling efficiently is a top priority. So, we’ve had reason to be optimistic about the volume level of the PS5. And now, we have additional reasons for optimism in the form of early reports concerning both next gen consoles. Apparently, the Xbox Series X and PS5 are extremely quiet.

Xbox Series X and PS5 Extremely Quiet According to Early Reports

There have been a few tweets already about how quiet both of the consoles are. Let’s take a look at what early users are reporting about the noise levels of the Xbox series X and the PS5.

JezCorden of Windows Central made the following tweet:

The text says, “The Xbox Series X is completely silent. Just mind blowing tech.”

What about PS5? Here is a tweet from Dengeki:

According to the text, “PS5 could be “hardly heard” during gameplay, very quiet apparently.”

So, that is pretty awesome. Going by these reports, both consoles may indeed run just as quietly as we could hope they would. Of course, we need to keep in mind that consoles may run more loudly as they get older. So, we still do not know what to expect over the long term for sure.

With both of the next gen consoles coming out in November, there is sure to be a lot of news over the rest of this month and the start of next. Pre-orders sold out for both the PS5 and the Xbox Series X, and both Sony and Microsoft appear to be struggling to keep up with demand. But that was in line with expectations. As we read more early reports about what it is like to use both consoles, we will update you in our PlayStation news.
