2021 NFL Pro Bowl Going Virtual With Madden 21 as Voting Begins

In pro sports, the annual All-Star games are major traditions with plenty of memories to go with them. For this year’s 2021 NFL Pro Bowl, fans will see a week of special events that integrate the Madden 21 video game. There is no actual Pro Bowl game, so instead there will be a virtual version. In addition, fans are able to use their games to start voting for who will play in the big “virtual” game in 2021.

Madden 21 to be featured in 2021 NFL Pro Bowl events

The 2021 NFL Pro Bowl was originally going to take place at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. However, that won’t be the case with many big events postponed or canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Instead, EA Sports is teaming up with the National Football League to provide a virtual Pro Bowl involving the Madden 21 game. There will be a week full of “virtual match-ups” using the game with celebrities, legends, and current players competing on the sticks.

The main event will be a game of Madden football involving the league’s top players. Could fans see Derwin James, star of Derwin James vs. the World? Perhaps Tyreek Hill, Cee Dee Lamb, and rookie Henry Ruggs III might show up based on their skills? As of this report, there isn’t an official date for that game, and they are still working out the broadcast details.

Voting is now underway for annual game

The 2021 NFL Pro Bowl sponsored by Verizon brings in many of the best players in the league competing in the annual football All-Star Game. They won’t be playing this year, but the chosen Pro Bowl players still receive incentive bonuses and a swag bag.

On Tuesday, the official voting kicked off with multiple ways for fans to vote for the players they think need to represent in the game. A combination of fan, coaches, and player votes will choose the 88 representatives for this year’s game.

The NFL.com/ProBowlVote website is one way to cast votes. Additionally, voting is available through the Madden NFL 21 video game or Madden NFL 21 mobile game. In addition, gamers can cast votes on Twitter from December 1 through December 17 by adding the hashtag #ProBowlVote with a player’s first and last name on their tweets.

“We are transforming the Pro Bowl for fans everywhere and bringing another amazing NFL experience to life in the way only Madden NFL can,” said Chris Bruzzo, Electronic Arts EVP of Marketing, Commercial & Positive Play.

“We’re excited to work closely with the NFL, our long-time partner, to move the Pro Bowl to the virtual fields of Madden NFL and be part of the first high-profile sporting event to go virtual. Our community is hungry for more interactive experiences, so we are always working to create more opportunities to bring them closer to the sports they love,” Bruzzo said.
